Meet Arthur my first Dragon! My inspiration came after seeing a gargoyle peering down from an end gable of an old house. I really love gargoyles but I wanted to make something slightly more ‘elegant’ so decided on a dragon - if dragon’s can be elegant!? After hours of hand sculpting and a bisque firing I used manganese oxide to pick out the detail but apart form that nothing else, keeping the clay as natural as possible to give a ‘stone like’ quality. (He measures about a foot long when viewed side on!)
